Today we shine the vintage spotlight on airline TV-commercials from the 1970s and 80s. Some of these TVCs were intended to be funny, whilst others are unintentionally very amusing.
Back before Air New Zealand mastered the art of combining humour, brand messaging and substance in its safety and promotional videos, airlines experimented with different ways of getting their messages across – some worked, and some didn’t.
Whatever the case, we think they’re worth watching, if not for entertainment purposes then for the fact that they provide a unique window into aviation history.

Alaska Airlines
Qantas
British Airways
