Accor introduces a new brand, Handwritten Collection – a curated global portfolio of bespoke boutique hotels designed to connect guests with their hoteliers’ charm, character and know-how – starting with 12 hotels worldwide, including two in Australia.
The new Accor brand is described as “a variety of hotels that are so distinct, it’s as if each local hotelier were inviting guests into their charming and stylish homes”.
Handwritten Collection will offer an intimate and stylish hospitality experience with 12 secured signings and five properties to debut in 2023.
Initial Handwritten Collection properties include sites in China, France and Australia with Sydney and Perth hotels set to open in February 2023.
Hotel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental; Le Saint Gervais Hotel & Spa, France; Wonil Hotel Perth; Hotel Morris, Sydney and Le Splendid Hotel Lac d’Annecy in France are the first hotels to debut.

Additional properties will open throughout 2023 and beyond, including Hotel Les Capitouls Toulouse Centre, France; Oru Hub Hotel in Tallinn, Estonia; Square Lodge Hotel La Roche sur Yon, France; Sunrise Premium Resort in Hoi An, Vietnam and Paris Montmartre Sacré Coeur as well as properties in Bucharest, Romania and Madrid, Spain.
Accor CMO of Premium, Midscale and Economy Brands Alex Schellenberger said the Handwritten Collection enriches Accor’s offering with a one-of-a-kind concept.
“Our aim, beyond delivering a truly authentic guest experience, is to support the growing number of independent and boutique hotel owners looking to boost their global profile, connect with more audiences and grow their revenue without losing their identity,” he said.

“Handwritten Collection hotels are for travellers who appreciate heartwarming travel experiences and a twist on traditional hospitality as well as hoteliers who cherish the unique personality of their properties while desiring the benefits that come with a leading global partner.”
The Handwritten Collection portfolio is expected to reach more than 250 hotels by 2030.
Accor also recently revealed plans to launch the Orient Express Silenseas luxury yacht in 2026.
