Visitors to Tulsa, Oklahoma can now check out the Bob Dylan Center, the world’s first museum dedicated to the 80-year-old American music legend, as part of a wider music-based itinerary in the US state.
The Bob Dylan Center offers the general public the first-ever glimpse at curated exhibits culled from more than 100,000 items spanning the folk musician’s career.
Dedicated to the study and appreciation of the renowned American singer-songwriter and his cultural significance, the museum contains handwritten manuscripts, notebooks and correspondence, videos, artworks, memorabilia, unreleased studio and concert recordings and musical instruments as permanent exhibits.

Highlights include personal mixings of famous Dylan recordings and a 16-foot-high metal sculpture designed and built by Bob Dylan himself.
The Bob Dylan Center is located in Tulsa’s art district, which also houses the Woody Guthrie Center, dedicated to another US folk music hero, and is the latest addition to Oklahoma’s must-see music locations that centre around famous Oklahoma artists and standout music genres and venues.
Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation’s Consumer & Trade Marketing Director Todd Stallbaumer said the state’s music scene has played a significant part in the US’s musical heritage.
“With roots in American Folk, known as the music of the people, Oklahoma has a wide range of artists from Woody Guthrie to Carrie Underwood hailing from the state,” he said.

“Oklahoma Tourism has introduced music-inspired itineraries as part of the Oklahoma Music Trail and we’re delighted to add the Bob Dylan Center to the list of must-visit music-inspired locations in Oklahoma.”
