A group of lucky Australian travel agents were invited to experience Europe with APT on an exclusive rail and cruise famil.
The most sought after ‘Royal Invitation’ saw agents take a rail journey on the Majestic Imperator through Austria before hopping on MS AmaDante for a cruise from Nuremberg to Budapest.
The Majestic Imperator is modelled on one of the finest relics of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Imperial Train originally built for Emperor Franz Josef I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
Beneath its rich, lustrous interior, it represents centuries of perfectly-preserved history and tradition.

Taking in the breathtaking scenery of Austria’s famous Salzkammergut region, the group of travel agents enjoyed morning tea aboard the train before disembarking in Salzburg for a tour, which touched on some of the sights from the classic ‘Sound of Music’ and the chance to explore Mirabell Gardens and the Great Salzburg Festival Hall.
They then reboarded, enjoying drinks, canapés and music en route to Linz, where they rejoined their river cruise.
