It’s been a while since we caught up; you were Miss World Australia/Oceania for 2013/2014. What’s next for Erin?

It’s been an absolutely incredibly ride since I finished my time as Miss World Australia!! I signed with the Non-Scripted Department and Morrissey Management, and have been forging a career in the entertainment industry; really building upon the wonderful success I had during my reign.

Most recently, I started presenting on Sydney Weekender for Channel 7, became the Global Brand Ambassador for Serenade Leather Handbags, hosted events throughout Australia and delved into charity ambassador work with my favourite organisations The Australian Working Dog Rescue and Variety – The Children’s Charity!

What’s the most incredibly overwhelming moment you’ve experienced travelling the world?

The most moving experience was definitely travelling to India and Nepal as part of my Ambassador duties with AECC Global (Australia Education and Careers Consultants). Miss World is considered exceptionally prestigious in these countries.

I was completely overwhelmed with the reception, generosity, and beautiful nature of the Nepalese and Indian people. In Nepal, I trekked throughout the beautiful Himalayas, visited the wondrous Taj Mahal and rode elephants around the Royal city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. It was the experience of a lifetime – one I will never forget.

What’s your top travel tip?

I always prepare my own snacks to take on the plane – plane food doesn’t tend to agree with me, so I always make sure I have enough of my own healthy snacks (Generally nuts, rice crackers, dried fruit, water) to last me the long flight. Staying hydrated is a massive for on long haul flights too – it can really help with the jet lag if you look after yourself properly!!

What’s your top 3 beach destinations?

Definitely my beautiful home town of Cairns – It so often gets overlooked for Port Douglas, but its Northern Beaches of Palm Cove, Clifton and Trinity beach are just GORGEOUS!! I am a dedicated Bondi fan.

There’s nothing more beautiful than Bondi Beach at sunrise, sunset, or even watching the incredible storm systems we’ve been experiencing of late roll in.

My final would have to be Racha Island in Thailand. We went there for my friends wedding and it has to be the most crystal clear water and white sand I’d ever seen in my life!

You always look great in pictures; give us one tip for taking great holiday snaps.

Definitely use your surroundings! When on holiday, you may as well make us all jealous of where you are, so a big cheesy grin coupled with an awesome background is always going to do well 😉

Tell us what 3 things you absolutely cannot live without when you go to the beach?

  • My Bondi Sands Tan
  • A giant Green Juice
  • Some chill beats. Music is everything to me!
