Travel Managers experience the Aloha spirit

Most people in travel have moments when they pause and think to themselves, “I love my job.”  For two Travel Managers that moment occurred just last month in Hawaii.

Most people in travel have moments when they pause and think to themselves, “I love my job.”  For two Travel Managers that moment occurred just last month in Hawaii.

Kim Mason, representative for Cronulla in New South Wales, was invited to experience the ‘Aloha’ spirit as part of an agent famil organised by CT Partners, Hawaiian Airlines and Freestyle Holidays.

She said her fortune hit her while she was floating around on a yellow beanbag in the hotel pool.

“I noticed that everyone was happy and making conversation with complete strangers, as if we were all children again at a friends’ pool party.”

“The DJ’s tunes were blaring out over the speakers and the wait staff were on hand to refill the drinks”.

That moment was just one highlight of a four-night stay in Honolulu for Mason, who was one of two personal travel managers (PTMs) from TravelManagers that were invited to participate in the famil.

Leah Boyd, representative for West Brunswick in Victoria, also joined the group, making the most of every opportunity to experience the famous Aloha spirit not just in Waikiki but all over Oahu.

For Boyd, a visit to the Kualoa Ranch on Oahu’s east coast, about forty minutes’ drive from Honolulu, was another highlight.

“There were many activities to take part in – horse riding, ATVs, zip-lining, and the beach. Our group tried a variety of activities so now I can recommend the right activities for my clients’ respective needs.”

Honolulu is well known as a shopper’s paradise, and the group returned home armed with an excellent knowledge of the best spots for retail therapy.

Both PTMs relished the opportunity to have a first-hand update on the accommodation options on offer in Waikiki, and also appreciated the chance to see a variety of hotels and room types ranging from relatively simple family-friendly properties to iconic properties like the Moana Surfrider.
