Your age should never define your holiday...

There comes a time in every traveller's life when they realise they're too old to sleep in hostels, too old to attend a full moon party in Koh Samui, and too old to stay up until the wee hours on a Dublin pub crawl.

There comes a time in every traveller’s life when they realise they’re too old to sleep in hostels, too old to attend a full moon party in Koh Samui, and too old to stay up until the wee hours on a Dublin pub crawl.

Indeed, for most people, age defines their holiday, influencing where it is that they go, and what it is that they do.

Which is kind of a shame when you think about it, because sometimes your ‘inner age’ is drastically different than your ‘physical age’ – sometimes by decades.

But what if you could somehow devise a test to find out whether your inner age was different to your physical age? Would that new knowledge impact your travel decisions?

After all, age is just a number, is it not?

Well, that’s exactly what Scoot, the Singapore-based budget airline, wanted to find out, and it enlisted the help of four silver nomads from Queensland to find out once and for all whether knowledge of your inner age could influence what you would do on your next trip.

And as you can see from the hilarious video below, the answer to that question is an emphatic YES!

The ‘Travel your inner age’ campaign by Scoot was launched to encourage Gold Coast seniors to travel according to their inner age, not their physical age, and visit Singapore.

The clever new campaign was also intended to remind these travellers that they can – and should – partake in some of the country’s exciting activities, such as ziplining across Sentosa, taking selfies with Supertrees, or chowing down on chilli crab – yum!

Indeed, Scoot is encouraging older travellers to visit the airline’s Facebook page where they have a chance of scoring a sweet discount on a flight to Singapore, plus win a cool (inner) age appropriate itinerary once they hit Singapore.

“Scoot is encouraging the not so well travelled, or travel-shy people, in particular the older generations to live their inner age and visit Singapore, as its well earned reputation for efficiency, safety, fun and myriad activities is all there for them to enjoy.”

Jacqueline Loh, Head of Marketing and Ancillaries, Scoot.

Those older travellers not lucky enough to score a discount can still take advantage of some cheap airfares to Singapore ex Gold Coast from just $169.
