Yodelling billboards, cannabis retreat and ‘vertical massage tables’ promising you a comfortable nap on your next flight. It’s Thursday and we’re back with the travel trends of the week.

1. Yodel for a free trip?

In the Swiss region of Graubünden, a unique tourism marketing stunt was set up asking people to yodel in order to get a free trip.

Using an interactive digital screen set up on a public street, Graubünden tourism was promoted by having a man in the mountains onscreen call out to people passing by in real-time.

They were then challenged to give their best yodel for the chance to take a quick vacation to a picturesque mountain town.

If someone on the street asked you to yodel, would you do it?

2. A pot smokers dream

post

The 170-acre all-inclusive pot ranch resort CannaCamp located in Durango, Colorado will put a smile on any recreational cannabis lover’s face.

Described as an adult version of summer camp this camping ranch offers cabins and plenty of outdoor activities with a heavy emphasis on cannabis-enhanced activities.

The ranch was created by Bud+Breakfast and Cultivating Spirits, two Colorado-based cannabis lifestyle brands and is designed to be a safe, comfortable and social environment and is referred to as an intriguing example of the growing cannabis wellness movement seeking to debunk the stereotype of a typical cannabis user.

3. Wanna sleep comfortably sitting up?

post

We’ve all been there, tossing and turning in our flight seats struggling to find a comfortable sleeping position using various neck pillows, scarves and even the shoulder of strangers (!) for head support.

However for the traveller who is still looking for that perfect sleep aid the revolutionary Hypnap Body Rest is a new solution that sits on the fold-out table promising to give passengers a comfortable nap.

However resembling a vertical massage table we can’t help to worry a little, however if the prize to pay for a ‘good night’s sleep’ on our next long-haul flight is to look like we’re just about to get a Thai massage, we’re in.

But we still haven’t worked out where the arms go…

4. Floating luxurious hotels

post

Serbia’s Salt and Water design firm has unveiled their latest design project, a series of floating hotels that transform classic catamaran watercrafts into functional accommodations.

Salt and Water’s swanky design is aimed to appeal to a luxe consumer with an appreciation for exclusivity.

The floating hotels boast stunning views of their surrounding natural landscape and each of the hotels is equipped with an elegant sitting, a double bedroom, bathroom with panoramic windows.
