From 19 April to 4 August, distinguished 18th-century painter, Caspar David Friedrich’s Infinite Landscapes, graces the walls of Alte Nationalgalerie. Visitors will enjoy 60 paintings and 50 drawings demonstrating why Friedrich was Germany’s most prominent Romanticism artist.
One of the greatest portrait painters of all time, Frans Hals, will be on display at the Gemäldegalerie Art Museum from 17 July to 3 November. With around 70 works from this 16th-century Dutch artist, this is a drawcard for art lovers.
Not-to-be-missed cultural events
2024 is an incredible year for Berlin’s arts and cultural events. Kicking off from 15 to 24 February, the 74th Berlinale cinematic celebrations return. It’s one of the world’s three major film festivals.
