Smartphones and tablets are never far from reach these days. And while travelling is a great opportunity to ‘turn off’, many of us still have to be connected when we’re on the go.

It’s important to have technology that can keep up with you but there are also lots of gadgets that make travelling a bit easier and more fun. So here are a few travel techsessories that you need to try!

We recently put some of our favourite new gadgets to the test during our recent trip to beautiful New Zealand. Here’s what we thought:

1. The Shutterball

1

First up – the Shutterball! This little gadget is awesome for selfie lovers everywhere. It’s a remote control for your smartphone or tablet camera that makes it really easy to set up cool shots and take video even if you’re travelling solo or don’t have someone to take it. It works up to 30 metres away plus, its super small and easy to carry around.

2. Old World Travel iPad Cover

2

Now, I always prefer using my iPad to read on the plane and recently we’ve been using it to broadcast on Periscope, so it’s great to have a protective cover that also looks really cute. I love the old world map design, especially when I’m exploring new places. This case is from Ciao Bella Travel. which specialises in stylish travel gear.

3. Otterbox Smartphone Case

3

Another tech-sessory that looks cute and protects well is the Otterbox case. Otterbox has been setting the standard for phone protection for years but I wasn’t a fan of the clunkier style of the past. Now they’ve got lots of new colours and more streamlined designs, like the Symmetry series, so they look great and keep your phone safe.

4. Tabi MacBook Case

4

My MacBook is usually with me on most of my travels because I love using the time on the plane to edit our videos and write. But I’ve gone for years without a case to protect it! This one by Tabi from BeBook is firm but not too heavy or big and has a cool, industrial look to it. Inside, there’s also grips to keep the laptop from moving around too much and a handle on top – win!

5. mophie

5

Battery life is another big problem for travellers, especially if you love taking lots of photos and videos on your phones, like we do. That’s why mophie is such a lifesaver. You can charge it and your phone at the same time and then flick the switch on when your normal battery is low – it gives you another full charge so you can keep on snapping.

6. Uniden UH35-4 Walkie Talkie

6

This one is a bit more fun than practical but seriously, who doesn’t love walkie talkies? They’re great for camping trips, when you’ve got several cars road tripping at once and of course, places where you may not have phone service. We had a blast goofing around on these colourful Uniden walkie talkies.

So there you have it – some great new travel techsessories for you to try!
