Forget the long-haul flights! Australia and New Zealand is home to some of the worlds most beautiful & unique destinations.
AAT Kings have you covered when sourcing the best spots! With hidden gems dotted throughout Aus and NZ, you want to make sure you tee up with the experts so your clients don’t miss out on those incredible finds. Check out what can be discovered when digging a little deeper in our own backyard.
Opal hunting with the locals
As part of the Outback Adventure tour, guests will stay overnight in the legendary town of Coober Pedy. Known for being the underground town in the Outback, they’re also famous for their Opals. It’s easy to be conned into buying whatever you see first but the Travel Directors know where to get the best deals – big savings, little effort!
Daly Waters Pub Lunch

Okay, this one won’t be in the brochure but it’s a brilliant selling point. This ‘little’ pub is also part of the Outback Adventure tour where people have been leaving their mark on the pub since the 80’s with 100’s of bras (among other things) decorating the pub. Super unique!

Mataranka is a must-do if you’re visiting the NT and believe me, photos just don’t do it justice! This sandy-bottom thermal pool flows from the incredible Rainbow Springs and you can lap all the beauty up on the Outback Adventure. Don’t forget your camera phone, though no filters necessary.
Be part of a Hangi in NZ
Most places will do a Hangi but substitute some of the traditional methods in modern kitchens to cater for big crowds. Tamaki Maori Village offers a truly authentic cultural experience including guests watching the traditional removal of the food from the ground! Amazing! You can take on this cultural experience on the Best of New Zealand tour
Walk the beach with Sea Lions

We always talk about independently seeing Australia but when you know for certain you’ll be walking along the beach with Sea Lions… who wants to leave that to chance? Just one of the amazing (and not so talked about) reasons to jump on-board the Great Ocean Road & Kangaroo Island Escape and explore the very sandy shores of Kangaroo Island.

Wineglass Bay (you had me at wine) is one of the natural beauties that everyone knows about but nobody has been to. How? This is the picture you see everywhere. When you dream of swimming in beautiful still waters or camping by the bay – this is that place. It’s simply stunning! And funnily enough, guests can cruise on it as part of the Perfect Tasmania Tour – yasss!
Hidden Gem: Best of New Zealand
It’s not uncommon for some of AAT Kings Travel Directors to greet guests with the Haka on arrival into Queenstown. They’ll also book your clients dinner and a Gondola ride up to Bob’s Peak or take them to the best Hokey Pokey Ice-cream in NZ – if only they could figure out a way to bring it back home!
Tour VS Independent
The long-winded debate is always going to divide customers but AAT Kings make exploring Aus/NZ so easy. Travel Directors are trained experts in making sure every little detail of their holiday goes to plan – who wants to get to Kangaroo Island and realise they missed out on seeing Sea Lions? No-one! Need some more convincing? Check out the top reasons guided tours are the way to go…
