Now that the 2019 program has launched, we take a look at one of the four brand-new and unique packages available to guarantee a Rocky Mountaineer journey of a lifetime.

Journey through the Clouds Mountain Adventures

This ten-day must-do experience pairs Canadian Mountain Holidays with the Rocky Mountaineer experience, incorporating a two-day rail journey with nine-nights’ accommodation in some of Canada’s most sought-after spots.

Travelling either from Calgary to Vancouver westbound via Kamloops, Jasper, Cariboos and Banff or vice versa, the highlights are endless.

From the narrow canyon of Hell’s Gate that rivals Niagara Falls in water volume, to the impressive 91.5 metre Pyramid Falls. From the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson, to a breathtaking drive down Icefields Parkway with its glaciers, cascading waterfalls, rock spires and glistening lakes.

Take in one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Banff National Park and experience the Rockies from a bird’s eye view with a panoramic helicopter tour over the majestic mountain range.

A word of advice…keep your camera well and truly charged!

The journey also includes two-nights’ accommodation at the laid-back Cariboos lodge where some of the most unforgettable experiences await.

A home-away-from-home, Cariboos offers 28 guest rooms, an array of activities to suit everyone and the most spectacular glacial views.

You can be as active or relaxed as you like with activities offered according to your ability and desires.

Adventurers can take flight on a heli-hiking adventure off the shoulders of the Cariboo range, hike the glacier giants or walk along the ridgelines, whilst those a little less adventurous can try snowshoeing, indoor rock climbing or relax back at the lodge with a soothing massage.

Then there’s always the sauna, outdoor jacuzzi and nightly jam sessions in the bar to return home to after a day experiencing some of the most magnificent wilderness in the world!

Not one, but four new packages!

Flexibility is key to the three other packages on offer from Rocky Mountaineer, with self-drive options available in Canmore, Kananaskis and Sunshine Village.

The First Passage to the West Canmore Self-Drive package includes four-days to explore the charming mountain town of Canmore (just 20-minutes from Banff), the perfect location for hiking, cave exploration and a spot of shopping.

Sitting within Banff National Park, Sunshine Village is positioned at an elevation of 7,200 feet overlooking breathtaking mountain terrain. Spend four days experiencing the best hiking in all of Canada as part of the First Passage to the West Sunshine Village Self-Drive package.

For those after a balance of adventure and relaxation, the First Passage to the West Kananaskis Self-Drive package includes four days in the town popular for horse riding, golfing and its Nordic Spa.
