Arabia's best kept secrets

Qatar Airways and Sultanate of Oman Tourism recently escorted a group of CT Partners consultants to Oman, where plenty of secrets got revealed.

Qatar Airways and Sultanate of Oman Tourism recently escorted a group of CT Partners consultants to Oman, where plenty of secrets got revealed.

Connecting conveniently via Doha, the group enjoyed hospitality from Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa – Muscat, Desert Nights Camp in the spectacular sand sea of the Ash Sharqiya, and the stunning
Alila Jabal Akhdar perched 2,000 metres above sea level in the spectacular Al Hajar Mountains.

Enjoying a 5-day escorted itinerary of Oman, the group explored the capital, Muscat, taking in the elegant Grand Mosque, and the frankincense-scented tangle of alleyways that make up the famed Mutrah Souk.

Leaving Muscat, the party travelled to the historic port of Sur, visited the astonishing Bimah Sinkhole, and the spring-fed oasis of Wadi Bani Khalid before heading for the interior to be welcomed into the home of a Bedouin family, spending a luxurious night in the desert. The journey continued through Nizwa, the ancient capital, then up into the chilly, rarefied air of the Hajar Mountains.

This revealing itinerary ensured that, for this group, Oman is Arabia’s best-kept secret no more.

On returning to Australia, fam delegate Brett Ray revealed a few of his own when he reported that “The people of Oman made me feel very welcome. They were always smiling and have a cheeky sense of humour. In the air, Qatar Airways’ fully flat bed is perfectly complemented by vintage Champagne and a stunning on-demand dining experience.”

Mimi Dani, CT Partners, summed up the real secret to a trip to Oman in a simple hashtag, #OneMoreNight.

We couldn’t agree more.
