B2B: All aboard the night train with Eurail and European Sleeper from Brussels to Berlin

Eurail has added Dutch-Belgian rail company European Sleeper to its vast network, allowing passengers to board the overnight trains between Brussels and Berlin, which includes popular stops such as Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

From 1 June, travellers can book a seat reservation directly via the newly launched European Sleeper website.

Eurail Pass holders can board the new European Sleeper trains between Brussels and Berlin from 1 July 2023 with eight stops along the way, including Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Deventer.

By including a journey with European Sleeper in their itinerary, Eurail travellers can cover large distances, such as Edinburgh to Berlin, using only one of the travel days included in their Pass.

European Sleeper also plans to expand its service every year, adding Dresden and Prague as early as spring 2024.

The announcement reinforces the role of rail for sustainable travel in Europe, including the resurgence of sleeper trains.

Eurail has helped promote rail travel’s popularity in recent years, launching its mobile Pass in 2020 and getting more than 980,000 travellers on the tracks for a record-breaking year in 2022.

Eurail CEO Carlo Boselli said: “We are delighted to welcome European Sleeper to our carrier membership. We believe in an interconnected and borderless Europe by rail, made possible with a Eurail and Interrail Pass.”

European Sleeper Co-Founder Chris Engelsman added: “We welcome Interrail and Eurail pass holders on board our night trains.”

“Being a true European railway, we consider this partnership a great way to promote the most remarkable and responsible way to travel across Europe.”
