Destination British Columbia invites Aussies and Kiwis to explore the popular Canadian province from the Rainforest to the Rockies, highlighting the extraordinary landscapes and towns between Vancouver on the Pacific Ocean and the Canadian Rockies.
According to Destination BC, Australian visitors are projected to account for 231,000 overnight stays in British Columbia in 2024 – a 29 per cent year-on-year increase.
The new Rainforest to Rockies place branding aims to entice travellers to visit more parts of the province in different seasons with itineraries designed to appeal to tourists from around the world.
All itineraries start in BC’s gateway city of Vancouver, Canada’s latest Michelin city, inspiring visitors to slow down and make the most of their exploration by car, rail, bike or coach.
Destination BC’s Rainforest to Rockies Journeys
There’s 12 different ways to embark on the Rainforest to Rockies route, including themed Journeys such as The Classic: Along the Trans-Canada Highway, a 778km road trip that ends in scenic Yoho National Park.

Foodies and culture fans can take the slow, southern route from Vancouver with the Winding Road: Crowsnest Highway 3 to the Canadian Rockies trip, full of farm-fresh finds and bountiful wineries.
The Big and Wild: North to Mount Robson itinerary is geared for adrenaline junkies and active travellers, driving along the Sea-to-Sky and Yellowhead highways and ending at Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.

Also adding to the Rainforest to Rockies route’s appeal is the growing list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Protected Areas from the Canadian Rockies to Átl’ḵa7tsem/Howe Sound, Canada’s 19th Biosphere Reserve.
