Take a deep breath because you will need it if you are considering diving into The Deep Joy or Y-40, the world’s deepest pool.
Situated in a regional natural park in the Euganean Hills in Italy, the world’s deepest pool, or the Y-40 Deep Joy, is not for the fainthearted. The 40-meter deep pool, which opened in June this year is as scary as you can imagine.
This jaw-dropping pool got its name from mathematical symbols, with ‘Y’ representing the ordinate axis of the Cartesian system and ‘-40’ meant the world’s record depth or the Deep Joy pool which is 40 meters deep.
If you are planning a dip or dive into Deep Joy you will be pleased to know that there is no need to wear a wet suit. Filled with thermal spa water Y-40 maintains a comfortable temperature of 32-34°C.
Whether you are an avid scuba diver or a beginner this pool offers various intermediate depths and caves depending on your technical scuba diving experience.
