“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!” Newly-single Jake Dodridge auctions off ex-girlfriend’s holiday ticket on eBay hoping to find a new travel partner.
Unlucky in love, Jake Dodridge was recently dumped by his long-term girlfriend just before the couple was to embark on a romantic holiday together to Venice. To make matters worse, he was refused a refund by www.lastminute.co.uk for his paid-in-full luxury holiday ($A1195) despite his extenuating circumstances.
However, Dodridge wasn’t one to sulk for very long. Instead the 21-year old IT technician form the UK has now listed the holiday package on eBay which includes flights and a four night stay in a four-star luxury hotel with Mr love-lorn himself.
“This isn’t something I would normally do, but when life gives you lemons you have to make lemonade. I was upset when my girlfriend dumped me, but looking back it was the right thing to do. It just wasn’t meant to be. But what is the point of wasting a perfectly good holiday? I want someone fun to come with me, who is up for a laugh. I will obviously get their number before we go so I can chat to them and see if we get on,” he told the Mirror.
Jake seems to be in great spirit despite being recently dumped by his girlfriend!
Nonetheless, there are a few T&Cs for anyone who wishes to start bidding. The winner of the auction must be female between the ages of 18-30 and to ensure the winner complies with his requirements, must supply Mr Dodridge with a “few photographs” before he agrees to go with them.

I’m currently looking for someone to travel to Venice with me (this isn’t something I’d usually do but left with no choice!). This includes the flight tickets and hotel stay for 4 nights! The hotel is a 4* Hotel in San Marco. I’m a 21 year old male and looking for females only between the ages of 18-30 to join me.I bought this holiday to Venice and it is non-refundable. I have checked and for a small fee a passenger’s name can be changed. The flights are from Gatwick – Marco Polo airport. The trip is from December 3rd and coming back on the 7th. I will need to see a few photographs of the highest bidder to make sure you are a female between the ages of 18-30!
The eBay auction has since been removed from online, although there is no sign on the auction ending. When last checked, the highest bid was £84 ($A155).
