A Virgin Atlantic flight attendant recently shared this beautiful story about her new “favourite” passengers; a kindhearted young man and the 88-year-old lady he swapped seats with, making her travel dreams come true.

Last week, Manchester-based Virgin Atlantic stewardess Leah Amy shared the adorable tale on Facebook, in a post that has since gone viral with over 8k likes and 2.3k shares to date.

A true gentleman

First Class

The two travelers struck up an “instant friendship” while waiting at the airport, according to the NZ Herald.

Jack and his family had purchased seats in Virgin’s upper-class cabin (the airline’s equivalent of a traditional first-class section), while 88-year-old Violet’s economy-class seat was situated directly next to the toilets.

Amy explained that Violet, a retired nurse who had worked in both the U.K. and America, often travels to New York to visit her daughter, although her visits had been put off for a long while because of a recent knee replacement surgery.

Her newfound friend Jack thought about the cramped row of economy seats to which Violet was assigned and his compassion led him to the decision that she’d get more out of his upper-class space than he would.

Jack reportedly kept the good deed quiet.

“[Jack] sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight. No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him to.”

“You should [have] seen her face when I tucked her in her bed after supper,” Leah recalled.

Violet’s “dream has always been to sit at the front” of the aircraft — and Jack generously made it come true.

WHAT A SWEETHEART.

Though the octogenarian didn’t provide the stewardess with a phone number or email to share the photos taken of her on the special flight, Leah said she planned to forward the memorable pictures in the mail and share them on social media in the meantime.

Facebook users have named Jack “a great man”, “stand up guy” and “honourable young man”.

A few ladies have asked if they can marry him and some people are even shouting “Jack for president!”
