Mouth-watering exploration: Tasting Australia launches SA Winter Series

Tasting Australia has launched its inaugural Winter Series following the success of Tasting Australia presented by RAA Travel last month.

Tasting Australia has launched its inaugural Winter Series following the success of Tasting Australia presented by RAA Travel last month.

Planned for 1 – 31 July 2021, the Winter Series will showcase Adelaide and regional South Australia with unique events hosted in some of the state’s favourite eating and drinking venues.

Premier Steven Marshall welcomes the initiative, recognising the addition to the Tasting Australia brand as a sign of the festival’s success.

“Tasting Australia is the country’s most significant eating and drinking festival and the response from locals, visitors and the industry following the 2021 event reinforces this,” said Mr Marshall.

“The Winter Series is an exciting addition not only to the Tasting Australia portfolio, but to South Australia’s event calendar.”

Events in this year’s Winter Series program span across seven regions from Eyre Peninsula to the Adelaide Hills and Adelaide to the Fleurieu Peninsula, with businesses creating bespoke and one-of-a-kind experiences exclusively for the series.

Some of the events in the Winter Series program include a progressive wine safari highlighting South African and South Australian wine and produce at the National Wine Centre of Australia for NWC on Safari: South Australia Vs South Africa, a Wild Winter Harvest feast at Barley Stacks Wines in the Yorke Peninsula, an authentic Pruners Lunch experience at Kay Brothers Wines in McLaren Vale and a firey lunch prepared by Jake Kellie for Fuego X Alkina at Alkina Wine Estate in the Barossa Valley.

Festival Director Simon Bryant says the Winter Series offers businesses the chance to showcase their venues to an engaged audience.

“The series has been designed to highlight and promote South Australian eating and drinking venues and to celebrate the best seasonal produce that this time of year has to offer,” said Mr Bryant.

“We want to inspire people to get out and about this winter, to travel regionally and discover a new side of their favourite South Australian products and venues. The Winter Series offers a whole new way for Tasting Australia patrons to explore every flavour of South Australia.”

Tickets to the Tasting Australia Winter Series are now on sale and can be purchased via tastingaustralia.com.au.
