Virgin Australia has launched a week-long Northern Territory Sale with one-way Economy fares from $145 to the Red Centre and $159 to the Top End.
The sale, in partnership with Tourism and Events NT, runs 22-28 June 2026, covering select travel dates between 29 July 2026 and 24 March 2027.
The lead-in Economy Choice fare is $145 one-way from Adelaide to Alice Springs with the Top End opening from $159.
It lands alongside the restart of Virgin Australia’s Sydney-Darwin service launch, adding a new direct option to the Top End for east-coast travellers.

One-way Economy sale fares are valid in both directions on the following routes:
- Adelaide to Alice Springs from $145
- Melbourne to Darwin from $159
- Brisbane to Darwin from $165
- Perth to Darwin from $185
- Sydney to Darwin from $239
The travel window coincides with several of the NT’s biggest event drawcards, giving advisors a ready-made reason to package flights with experiences.

In the Top End, Darwin Festival runs across most of August with more than 400 performances, alongside the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, the National Indigenous Fashion Awards and Country to Couture, plus the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards.
The Million Dollar Fish competition and the MXGP of Australia also fall within the period.
In the Red Centre, the window covers Red CentreNATS and Desert Mob, a major showcase of contemporary Aboriginal art presenting hundreds of artists from desert art centres.

Tourism and Events NT CEO Suzana Bishop highlighted winter escapes built around hot springs and desert landscapes.
“We’re excited to partner with Virgin Australia on such a fantastic sale, providing Australians with the perfect opportunity to escape the winter by swimming in hot springs in Katherine or Mataranka, or enjoy the colours of summer in the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges near Alice Springs,” she said.
“There has never been a better time to discover what makes the Territory truly incomparable.”

Virgin Australia Chief Marketing & Customer Operations Officer Libby Minogue said the flash sale broadens access to the destination.
“With fares starting from just $145 one-way to some of the Territory’s most iconic destinations, there has never been a better time to book a trip and discover the Territory’s incredible landscapes, culture and adventure,” she said.
The push into the Territory comes as the carrier balances domestic demand with a leaner schedule, having recently trimmed flights while slashing more than 1.5 million fares in a massive sale.
KARRYON UNPACKS: A one-week flash sale paired with the new Sydney to Darwin service hands advisors a tight booking window and a clear domestic upsell, with an events calendar already mapped to the travel dates. The Red Centre and Top End remain strong winter sellers for clients chasing warmth and Aboriginal art and culture without leaving the country.
