The Vanuatu Volcano Post Box – the world’s only post box near an active volcano crater and a popular hotspot attraction – is back in business with new branding as the island nation “welkams” international visitors back after reopening its borders on 1 July.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) and Vanuatu Post have relaunched the Vanuatu Volcano Post Box at the top of Mt Yasur, the world’s most accessible active volcano, which is located on Tanna Island.
Branded with VTO’s brand messaging, “Answer the Call of Vanuatu”, the Vanuatu Volcano Post Box allows travellers to post their letters and postcards and photograph their special island moments against the backdrop of the wide ash plain and rumbling Mt Yasur.
Accessible by a short, easy climb to the top, travellers can find themselves at the top of Mt. Yasur’s impressive crater for a once-in-a-lifetime, front-row natural firework display.
If that’s not enough of an adrenaline boost, you can also ‘ashboard down the side of the volcano after you reach the summit.
