We’ve found five newly opened boutique luxury properties sure to please your most discerning clients.
Lo Scoglio, Byron Bay, NSW
A slice of Italy in the Byron Bay hinterland, the design of this five-suite, six-bathroom ‘farmhouse’ (main image) was inspired by the owner’s Sicilian heritage.
Lo Scoglio is in Coopers Shoot, south of Byron Bay, but you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in Tuscany. Inside, expect 18th-century Italian artwork, timber lamps and vintage chairs.
Those with a penchant for wellbeing are well catered for with a pool, spa, gym, yoga deck, ice bath, and infrared sauna onsite.
A concierge is also on hand to organise one-on-one sessions with experienced therapists and personal trainers.
The Finish Line, Hobart, TAS
These aptly named private penthouses in Tasmania’s capital, sit just off the finish line of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race and were converted from a 1929 fruit cannery into luxurious accommodation in a six-year labour of love.
Book in December and you’ll be able to watch the boats come into the harbour through floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
‘Hobart’ has three bedrooms, a heated pool, and a spa that has been styled with a nod to superyacht living, while the two-bedroom penthouse ‘Sydney’ has an outside fireplace and a bath on the deck.
Idle Lake House, Gippsland Lakes, VIC
Waterfront boutique accommodation doesn’t get any better than this where guests stay on a ‘floating property’ moored at a private bay on the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria.
Idle Lake House is a retro-inspired, two-bedroom property with outdoor hot tubs that sits adjacent to Koho Floating Sauna.
If guests can drag themselves away, just a few metres from the jetty is Sodafish restaurant, serving fresh seafood straight from the local trawlers.
The Swan River Sanctuary, Swansea, TAS
Get your clients off-grid at this luxurious ‘river lodge’ on the banks of the Swan River.
The three-bedroom lodge sits on a 343-hectare regenerative cattle farm.
Guests can experience First Nation’s storytelling, and learn insights into sustainable agriculture and the endemic animals and birdlife.
Or sit in the onsite woodfired sauna hidden among the riverbank and then curl up in front of the hand-laid stone fireplace.
Sona Molong, Molong, NSW
This lovingly restored 1930s bank and bank manager’s quarters is nestled in the small town of Molong, in NSW’s Central West.
The five-bedroom property was painstakingly renovated to pay homage to its past, retaining many of its Art Deco traits, including fan shells over the windows and a curved corner entrance.
Guests can spend days lounging by the outdoor pool, exploring the gardens, or wandering the historic streets of Molong.
