Abercrombie & Kent acquires Scandinavian DMC to expand global position

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has acquired Borealis, a Copenhagen-based destination management company, expanding its position as the world's largest network of luxury DMCs.

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has acquired Borealis, a Copenhagen-based destination management company, expanding its position as the world’s largest network of luxury DMCs.

Following the acquisition, along with A&K recently opening DMCs in Mexico and Indonesia, the leading luxury travel group now has an international network of more than 3,000 staff in 65 offices and 40 countries.

Borealis has coverage throughout Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, and A&K says the partnership strengthens its access to the region’s most sought-after experiences.

It says guests can expect experiences that will “support local conservation efforts and cultural preservation programmes, ensuring future generations can experience these remarkable landscapes”.

AKTG Chief Destination Officer Rebecca Osman says, “The Nordic region provides access to experiences that epitomise adventure and luxury in their purest forms”.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our commitment to unlocking impossible possibilities for both our discerning travellers and our trade partners.

“The Nordic region has become a guest favourite amongst luxury travellers seeking authentic wilderness experiences.”

Borealis DMC Founder Marcella Infantino says it has partnered with A&K for several years and this acquisition feels like a natural evolution.

“A&K understands what makes the Nordic region special – our relationships with local communities and commitment to authentic wilderness experiences.

“We’re excited to join a global family that’s leading the way in luxury travel.”
