Announcing its northern summer schedule for 2026, Air India will begin daily flights on its B777-300ER, bringing First Class flights between Delhi and Melbourne.
The former Etihad aircraft includes eight suites in First Class, 40 fully flat beds in Business Class and 280 seats in Economy, adding nearly 4,000 seats every month between Delhi and Melbourne.
Making the announcement as part of its northern summer schedule for 2026, the airline will also have increased frequency from Delhi to Toronto, Seoul, and Shanghai, and the retrofitted B787-8 will operate on Mumbai-London flights.
Between now and March, there will be the addition of 2,408 seats between Delhi and Tokyo every month.
The Delhi to Toronto frequency increases to ten times a week, and from 29 March, Delhi to Seoul will operate six times a week, and the newly launched Delhi to Shanghai flights operate five times a week.

Mumbai to London and Bengaluru to London flights will be on retrofitted aircraft with new cabin interiors, and the airline’s flights to Birmingham from Amritsar and Delhi, and to London from Ahmedabad and Amritsar, will be operated with B777-300ER, introducing First Class on these routes too.
Air India says it’s part of its “continued progress in building a modern, globally competitive full-service carrier”.

Earlier this month, Air India announced the opening of The Maharaja Lounge at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and the launch of its Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline’s first flagship lounge offers a premium experience with dedicated Business and First Class spaces for up to 300 guests. The First Class lounge has a luxury cocktail and champagne lounge, along with tarmac views and sleep suites.
The purpose-built Dreamliner features custom-styled interiors, Bluetooth connectivity and charging ports, plus mood lighting inspired by Indian wellness traditions throughout, with 30 Business Class seats.
