Award winning chef turns the heat at W Maldives

Perth-born Head Chef Dave Pynt is on his way to the iconic W Retreat & Spa in the Maldives to turn the BBQ heat up as the resort’s Barbecue Ambassador in August.

Dave Pynt, Owner and Head Chef at Burnt Ends (Singapore), one of the best restaurants in Asia as per the Diners Club® Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, is on his way to the iconic W Retreat & Spa-Maldives, where he’ll serve as guest chef and Barbecue Ambassador from August 28 to August 30, 2015.

While on our luxury playground, the Australian-born Chef will train the W talents in preparation and presentation methods of barbecue dishes and will sparkle his passion for playing with fire.

Perth-born Head Chef Dave Pynt knows how to flip a burger or two

Originally from Perth WA, Pynt comes from a heavy weight culinary background, staging and working under legends such as Tetsuya Wakuda (Tetsuya’s and Waku Ghin), Rene Redzepi (Noma), Victor Arguinzoniz (Asador Etxebarri), Nuno Mendes (Viajante and The Loft Project) and Fergus Henderson (St John and St John Bread and Wine) to name but a few.

During his stay, Pynt will present his standout signature dishes at FISH, the overwater restaurant and at FIRE, the Al Fresco BBQ offering alternatives such as charcoal grill, tandoor and spit roast.

Highlights include the pulled pork shoulder in home-made brioche bun with slaw and chipotle mayonnaise and the smoked quail eggs and caviar.
