Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class flagship lounge has reopened to premium passengers at Hong Kong International Airport after an 11-month renovation, unveiling a suite of dedicated spaces that deliver enhanced dining, comfort and privacy.
Cathay Pacific The Wing, First at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is located on the east side of Terminal 1 on level 7 and showcases the carrier’s new-look global flagship lounge design.
Exclusive features include dedicated workspaces in the Bureau, wellness and relaxation amenities in the Retreat and Alcove areas and all-day dining in the Atrium and Dining Room, along with self-serve snacks at the Pantry.

The light-filled and open Atrium forms the centre of the new-look lounge in addition to the casual Pantry for flexible dining, while the Dining Room offers a more formal experience with full a la carte service, including regional Chinese dishes created with the award-winning Mott 32 Cantonese restaurants.

Designed with elevated comfort and privacy for the airline’s First Class guests, Marco Polo Club Diamond members and eligible oneworld passengers, the Retreat will be offered at Cathay Pacific The Wing, First for the first time, featuring 12 shower suites and seven massage booths.

Five multi-purpose workspace booths are available in the Alcove alongside the fully enclosed Bureau for small meetings or focused work. The Wing, First is open from 5:30am until the last departure (12:30 –3:20am).

Cathay Group CEO Ronald Lam said the lounge reopening is part of more than HKD$100 billion (around AUD$17.8 billion) investments across its airline products, including the fleet and cabins.

“The Wing, First has long held a special place in not only our hearts, but also our customers’. Its reopening marks an important milestone in the evolution of our flagship lounge design and reflects our long-standing commitment to putting people at the heart of everything we do,” he said.

The refreshed 1,675sqm space is part of a wider lounge enhancement plan in Hong Kong and other major cities, including the reopening of The Bridge at HKIA and Cathay Pacific Lounge in Beijing in 2025.

The airline’s first-ever dedicated lounge in New York will debut at JFK’s upcoming Terminal 6 when it opens in late 2026. The Wing, Business at HKIA will also close and undergo renovations, reopening in 2027.
