Club Med is adding its first-ever GCC resort in this Middle East oasis in 2028

Club Med enters the Middle East market with Club Med Musandam – the brand’s first resort in the Gulf States – an all-inclusive beachfront property in Oman on the Musandam Peninsula with the world’s only desert fjord that’s seen the location nicknamed the “Norway of Arabia”.

Club Med Musandam is an Exclusive Collection Resort – the brand’s most exclusive and premium product – developed in partnership with the sultanate’s Royal Court Affairs and Omran Group (Oman Tourism Development Company).

The new USD$100 million-plus (around AUD$151 million) resort is located in the northeast Arabian Peninsula with a jagged coastline into the narrow Strait of Hormuz that’s surrounded by the Hajar Mountains.

It’s a five-minute boat ride from the province’s capital city of Khasab and a 2.5 hours’ flight from Dubai International Airport.

Club Med President Henri Giscard d’Estaing said: “The history and success of Club Med lies in its pioneer approach, strongly contributing to the development of regions and areas. The project of Club Med Musandam is a key milestone as it is our first presence in the Gulf States.”

What’s inside?

The Musandam Peninsula is known as the “Norway of Arabia” for its desert fjords.

Due to commence construction in 2026, the property will reflect its Oman location, local cultures and climate through its beach resort interiors, entertainment and food and beverage offerings.

It promises a refined and authentically luxe experience that also caters to the standards and needs of an elevated clientele.

Club Med Musandam will be an all-inclusive beach resort.

The 300-room resort will offer a diverse array of land and water activities, including for families, along with holistic wellness amenities, including a spa, fitness centre, yoga school and adults-only Zen pool.

The Resort Centre will also contain a restaurant, bar and wine corner plus shopping and live entertainment.

With sustainability at its core, the new build will be eco-certified by BREEAM or a local equivalent and adhere to Green Globe standards, an international and independent sustainable tourism certification.
