EXPLORA III: Explora Journeys release details of new ship set to sail in 2026

Her inaugural season, EXPLORA III will take guests through Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland and North America’s East Coast, before positioning to the Caribbean for the winter of 2026/2027.

What’s new on EXPLORA III?

EXPLORA III will offer more space than its earlier sister ships, and one of the highest ratios of total public space per guest. The new ship will also see expanded outdoor public spaces (18.7 square metres of public space per guest) which the cruise line says is one of the highest ratios in the industry. 

The new ship will offer 463 suites, slightly more than EXPLORA I and II, allowing for a focus on higher suite categories to offer more luxurious and spacious accommodations. 

Ocean Penthouses will now account for 24 per cent of the suite inventory; and the Ocean Residences have increased to nine per cent of the total inventory. 

EXPLORA III also introduces an additional Owner’s Residence on deck seven, as well as redefined Cove Residences, allowing guests to select their ideal suite configuration. 

In total, EXPLORA III will feature 313 Ocean Suites, 109 Ocean Penthouses, 39 Ocean Residences, and 2 Owner’s Residences.

New dining concepts will be added alongside the favourites found on EXPLORA I and II. 

Meanwhile, wellbeing offering,Ocean Wellness and Fitness’, has been reimagined to offer a unified space dedicated to wellbeing. The enhanced area will include Ocean Wellness – The Spa, offering experiences inspired by the power of the sea, alongside a state-of-the-art Fitness Centre and Fitness Studio, created in partnership with Technogym. 

An Open-Air Fitness area will feature on Deck 14, where guests can train outdoors; or train on an extended running track along Deck 12. An expanded Sports Court will offer Pickleball, Paddle, and Basketball, providing a variety of activities. 

The Nautilus Club on EXPLORA III has been enhanced with dedicated spaces and curated experiences designed for children and teens. 

Explora Journeys aims to increase its fleet to six vessels by 2028. Most recently, it took delivery of EXPLORA II in September, 2024.
