Hold up, did someone just use stylish in the same sentence as Travelodge? It may be a surprising coupling of words, but more travellers will be using them in the near future.
The budget accommodation brand has unveiled a new concept for six new hotels that feature rooms with spacious beds and rain-drop showers.
Targeting ‘budget travellers who want more style’, the half a dozen new properties will open under the name ‘Travelodge Plus’ with the promise of offering chic accommodation without extra spend.

Some £10m is being invested in the product upgrade, which will also include a ‘tranquility zen’ colour scheme, blackout curtains, USB ports and wall art, Daily Mail reported.
‘Super Rooms’ will also have Lavazza coffee pod machines, irons and ironing boards, larger desk as well as USB power points.

Other upgraded features include a communal Bar Cafe equipped with USB and laptop power ports.
Despite the enhanced offering, rooms at Travelodge Plus will cost between AU$70-$80 a night, which is only around $10-$20 more than a traditional Travelodge stay.

New to the brand is the Bar Cafe.
The brand’s Chief Executive, Peter Gowers, said Travelodge Plus gives holidaymakers more choice “while staying true to our mission to be the favourite hotel for value”.
“The hotel market is following the same path as airlines and retail. Budget hotels launched as niche offers but now dominate the market, with a wider customer base than ever.”

Initially Travelodge Plus will roll out in cities such as Brighton, Edinburgh, London and York.
