AccorHotels broke the city’s dry spell this week when it officially launched Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour – the city’s first new build, international luxury hotel this millennium.

AccorHotels’ Simon McGrath said the new hotel will be a “landmark hotel” for Sydney because of its convenient location, ability to host events and contribution to local tourism.

The opening of the Sofitel heralds a renaissance of new hotel development in Sydney, with over 40 hotels scheduled to open over the next five years to support the city’s record breaking tourism growth.
