This announcement marks the next stage in the cruise line’s expansion in Australia and New Zealand, following the December appointments of Steve Smotrys as Managing Director and Senior Vice President and Amber Wilson as Director of Sales.
Following its split from sister brand, Hurtigruten, HX Expeditions is reinforcing its trade-focused approach, “ensuring travel advisors have the resources and support needed to drive success in the rapidly growing expedition cruise market”.
From 2019 to 2023, HX Expeditions has seen 71 per cent growth in passengers sailing on expedition itineraries. It says this surge “highlights the demand for immersive, experience-driven travel, which the Norwegian powerhouse is well-positioned to lead with its expanded regional focus”.
