London’s The Shepherd Mayfair has unveiled a first look at its rooms and suites ahead of the hotel’s opening this European summer.
Sitting in the heart of Mayfair, the design ethos of the 82 guest rooms and suites hotel was to “reinterpret the character of Mayfair’s historic townhouses, pairing warm timber finishes, curved upholstery and red velvet accents with considered design details”.
Spread across six floors, many rooms incorporate window seats overlooking Shepherd Market and Mayfair, with interiors featuring warm timber finishes and curved upholstery, accented by blue detailing and red velvet curtains.

Desks are designed to convert into dressing tables, while console tables transform into chessboards, and each desk has a classic banker’s lamp.
Marble bathrooms have Floris amenities in bespoke bottles created exclusively for the property, with selected rooms having baths and separate seating areas.

Corridors feature a curated collection of artworks by British photographer Jack English, many exhibited publicly for the first time, alongside works by fine art photographer George McLeod.
Throughout the hotel are also references to local personalities such as Desmond Sautter, Lord Sandwich and Tiddy Doll, alongside discreet braille and morse code elements that reference the area’s wartime intelligence history and Down Street station.
