Mandarin Oriental set to open the doors on its debut property in Austria

Mandarin Oriental will open its first property in Austria, in the city's capital, Vienna on 20th October.

Mandarin Oriental will open its first property in Austria, in the city’s capital, Vienna on 20th October.

Sitting within a heritage-listed former courthouse, the 138-room and suite Mandarin Oriental, Vienna is in the First District on Riemergasse.

Suites have been designed to pay homage to the Art Nouveau-style of the early 1900s with a “subtle palette while integrating modern design elements”.

The hotel will have four restaurants, including fine-dining eatery Le Sept, which champions seafood with “contemporary French techniques and subtle Asian influences”.

All-day Atelier 7 Brasserie will offer international comfort food with a focus on seafood and fish dishes, while Atelier 7 – the cafe is a contemporary spin on Viennese coffeehouse tradition.

Atelier 7 Izakaya and Bar is the go-to for cocktails made with premium Japanese and Asian ingredients.

For the ultimate in relaxation, the spa has seven treatment rooms, including a couple’s room, an indoor pool and VIP treatment area.

 Mandarin Oriental, Vienna General Manager Mario Habicher says, Our aim is to create a place that is both a retreat for international travellers and a meeting place for locals with an appreciation of the extraordinary. The historic Art Nouveau building in Riemergasse provides the ideal setting for this”.

At the same time as opening Vienna, the luxury hotel brand will also open its second property in Dubai.

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is in the Wasl Tower, a new architectural icon on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The property will have 259 rooms and suites, a two-storey spa and 10 dining concepts and bars, including French, Chinese, Greek and Italian.

Mandarin Oriental properties will also open in Xi’an in northwestern China in 2029, and Seoul’s central business district in 2030.
