The Maria Island Walk, operated by Wildbush Luxury, has announced a new luxury package  in collaboration with Saffire Freycinet and MACq 01 Hotel.

The new, five-night Winter Wilderness Escape journey is designed to showcase the best of Tasmania’s east coast.

The experience begins with a night at the waterfront MACq 01 Hotel in Hobart, overlooking kunanyi/Mount Wellington. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in the city’s historic and culinary scene.

Following this, guests embark on a three-day fully-guided walk on Maria Island, exploring ancient forests and wildlife at World Heritage-listed sites.

Evenings are spent at the newly redesigned Bernacchi House, the only heritage-listed house in a Convict World Heritage area, where guests can enjoy fireside aperitifs, stargazing, and meals featuring Tasmanian produce.

The final leg of the journey takes place at the award-winning Saffire Freycinet, a member of Luxury Lodges of Australia, situated on the edge of Freycinet National Park. Here, guests can explore secluded coves, indulge in spa treatments, or simply relax on their private balconies while taking in the views of the Hazards Mountains. Dining experiences will be at Palate, Sapphire’s acclaimed fine dining establishment.

“Winter on Tasmania’s east coast is truly special,” said Amanda Byrne, General Manager of Wild Bush Luxury, which operates The Maria Island Walk.

“With crisp days and stunning weather, it’s the perfect time to escape and reconnect with nature, all while enjoying luxurious accommodations and some of the finest seasonal produce Tasmania has to offer.”

This new package represents a collaboration between three Tasmanian premium tourism experiences, according to Federal Group General Manager of Tourism Ross Boobyer.

“We’re thrilled to partner with The Maria Island Walk and offer guests a seamless winter escape that combines luxurious stays with an incredible guided nature hike,” Boobyer said.

“A night at MACq 01 sets the stage perfectly, while two nights at Saffire Freycinet provide a well-deserved reward after the walk. Guests can explore the Freycinet peninsula through our signature experiences or simply relax and enjoy the views.”

Rates for the Winter Wilderness Escape start at $9,770 for two people and includes all accommodation, most meals and beverages, transfers, signature experiences, tours, and the fully-guided Maria Island Walk with private guides.

The package is available for select departures between May 10th and August 20th, 2024.
