Micro-Cruising, which has the world’s largest collection of small ship cruises, has been added into the Virtuoso fold.
Started 12 years ago to meet the growing demand for small ship cruising, its ships include Grace Kelly’s honeymoon yacht in the Galapagos, barges that moved ammunition to Normandy during World War I; and a phinisi in Indonesia that has seven staff, including a full-time masseuse.
Micro-Cruising Managing Director, Nicola Caygill says, “We are excited to join Virtuoso as a regional partner to elevate the small ship cruising experience for clients in Australia and New Zealand”.
“Virtuoso’s dedication to curating one-of-a-kind travel aligns perfectly with our passion for truly small ship cruising, where every voyage is a boutique, personalised adventure.
“Luxury is about choice, and with Micro-Cruising, Virtuoso members can select from the largest selection of the world’s most unique small ship cruises and charters.”
She says as a regional partner the wholesaler will be able to connect and network with Virtuoso agencies through multiple communications channels and events across Australia and New Zealand.
“Inclusion in Virtuoso will present new sales and marketing opportunities to the network’s more than 1,800 advisors in the region and their highly desirable clientele.”
Micro-Cruising private charter on vessels of around 50 cabins or fewer.
Caygill says the benefit of smaller ships is they can, “navigate shallower waters, most can anchor easily at smaller ports, or even anchor at sea with no infrastructure in sight, and it offers unparalleled access to destinations unreachable by larger vessels—hidden coves, remote islands, and culturally immersive ports.”
