Mondrian Gold Coast will be the lifestyle hotel brand’s first Australian property when the 5-star flagship opens its doors on the iconic Burleigh Heads beachfront in 2025.
Part of the global Ennismore hospitality group, Mondrian’s expansion into Australia marks an exciting milestone for the brand, which now has 11 properties worldwide, including the recently opened Mondrian Hong Kong.
The 24-floor Mondrian Gold Coast hotel and residences are designed by Australian architects Fraser & Partners with interiors by Studio Carter that reflect its sun-drenched beachfront exterior.
It will comprise 208 studios, suites and homes, including two- and three-bedroom Beach Houses with private plunge pools and the penthouse Sky House.
Mondrian Gold Coast will also feature LITO, a ground-floor Italian cafe, restaurant and terrace bar; Haven oceanfront surf-to-plate seafood restaurant and pool club on the third floor, the Ciel Spa wellness sanctuary, multiple pools and extensive hybrid event spaces.
Mondrian Hotels & Residences Brand COO Chadi Farhat said Mondrian Gold Coast will capture Burleigh’s eclectic rhythm, creative community and sun-bleached surf scene for the Gold Coast’s most exciting new hotel arrival.
“Australia has long been a strategic focus for Mondrian’s growth and the Gold Coast was a focal point thanks to its phenomenal natural setting, rich cultural landscape and vibrant social scene,” he said.
“Over the last couple of years, we have seen a rising demand for lifestyle brands, where locals and international guests are looking for authentic, creative and immersive experiences – all the hallmarks of the Mondrian brand.
“It felt a natural choice to bring Mondrian to the Gold Coast and we believe it will resonate strongly with the local market and lend something entirely new to the hospitality space,” he said.
