Movers + Shakers: Ponant Explorations adds National Sales Manager for Home-Based Agents & new Sales Coordinator

Ponant Explorations has strengthened its commitment to the Australian home-based travel agency model with the appointment of Sandra Cahill as National Sales Manager for Home-Based Travel Agents alongside Anne Peitavi as Sales Coordinator, adding further regional support.

Cahill’s promotion reflects two years of strong performance under her partial management of the home-based travel agency sector for Ponant, which recently rebranded as Ponant Explorations Group.

In addition, she brings more than 40 years’ travel industry experience in senior sales and business development positions across luxury cruise, air, tourism, destination management, wholesale and training.

Cahill has previously worked with Silversea,  the Sultanate of Oman, APT Travel Group, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, bringing her deep expertise to the newly created role.

The appointment also coincides with the new TravelManagers Australia’s preferred partnership – deepening engagement with the home-based network.

Ponant Explorations Director of Sales Asia Pacific Julie Rogers said: “After two years of incorporating the management of home-based agency tasks into Sandra’s role, we witnessed over 60 per cent increase in sales results.”

“It became clear that Sandra’s deep expertise in luxury sales and relationship management would be better utilised by dedicating her full time to this growing portfolio,” she said.

Cahill will work closely with Ponant Explorations’ state managers, who remain actively involved in supporting this sector.

This appointment has also enabled the expansion of the Sales Team with Anne Peitavi joining as Sales Coordinator to further increase service and support for travel advisors across the region.
