Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney celebrates re-design with luxury PJ party

Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney celebrated the launch of the completion of the $13.5M re-design of their meeting and guest rooms at an event held at the hotel last week.

Last week, Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney invited guests to celebrate the completion of the hotel’s $13.5M re-design where they were treated to Gin & Tonics from Archie Rose Distillery using the “out of the blu” gin blended by the hotel’s GM, Director of Sales and Executive Chef.

The lucky guests also got to enjoy spa treatments from therapists at the hotel’s Tanatcha Spa and were introduced to the summer sleepwear range from luxury designer Papinelle who has designed pyjamas for loyalty stay hotel guests (each attendee received their own pair of these silky delights).

Guests dined on tasty treats including gourmet toasties, veal pies, and noodle boxes whilst a DJ provided background music as guests mingled in the “cool blue” hues.

After a tour of the hotel’s new rooms, guests were invited into the Marble Room for a mystery treat and as the doors opened, an array of comfy double beds dressed in the designer linens from the hotel welcomed guests as it was revealed that Radisson Blu had partnered with Mov’in Beds for the event.

Guests then watched a screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s while being served blue M&Ms, fairy floss and popcorn along with French champagne!

About the re-design

The first phase of the ‘new Blu’ re-design which was completed last September, 2015 focused on the function and meeting rooms.

These have all been refreshed and modernised and provide more than 500m2 of space, ideal for corporate business meetings, board meetings, social events, private dinners or cocktail functions from two to 200 guests.

The second phase of the re-design, completed last month (July 2016), includes a refresh of all 336 guestrooms and 28 suites at Radisson Blu, with new silk fabrics and contemporary chrome and metal-blue colour schemes, stylish chevron patterning reflected in the lighting and upgrades to the fittings in the building’s original marble bathrooms.

The Presidential Suite has been divided into two rooms, bringing the total number of guestrooms to 364.

“We are delighted to announce the completion of the hotel’s re-design and I firmly believe this $13.5 million investment now cements Radisson Blu’s position as one of the leading five-star hotels in Sydney.”

Peter Tudehope, Radisson Blu General Manager
