Raffles Hotels & Resorts has revealed details of its first hotel to open in Italy on Lake Como.

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has revealed details of its first hotel to open in Italy on Lake Como.

Created in partnership with CL Hotel SPA, Raffles Lake Como will be the brand’s first hotel in Italy and fifth in Europe when it opens in 2027.

The property will be a full-scale renovation and conversion of the former Grand Hotel Imperiale, an art nouveau villa from the 1920s with one of the largest hotel shorelines in the region.

Located on the western banks of Lake Como in Moltrasio, it’s just a short drive to the town centre.

In addition to the brand’s world-renowned butler service, there will be 84 rooms, including 18 suites and two villas, with arrival via private lake access with an exclusive arrival and check-in experience from the water.

The property will have “exquisite lakeside culinary experiences”, in addition to the brand’s signature Long Bar and Writers Bar.

When not out on the famed lake, guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, have any number of treatments at the spa or sip cocktails in the beach club.

While “grand gardens, and magnificent lawn overlooking the lake” will prove the perfect spot for private dining.

CL Hotel SPA Principal Andra Girolami says, “Raffles represents service excellence and heritage, with a deep respect for culture in all its forms, making it an ideal fit for the Lake Como community”.

“Together, we hope to create a new lakeside landmark that will service as an elegant escape for both residents and visitors to the destination.”
