If a Seabourn Sojourn world cruise is too long, how about a sector?

Seabourn has just announced that nine individual sectors of Seabourn Sojourn’s 2026 world cruise are now open for sale.

Seabourn has just announced that nine individual sectors of Seabourn Sojourn’s 2026 world cruise are now open for sale.

Ever since Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas took off on its epic 274-night world cruise in January, world cruises have been getting unprecedented airtime on TikTok, social media and in the mainstream press.

While there’s strong demand for these two- to three-month voyages and luxury ships book out incredibly quickly, shorter “open jaw” sectors are a great way to sail to some seriously desirable destinations.

Seabourn Sojourn sets off on her 2026 world cruise, Ring of Fire: Hidden Gems, from Los Angeles on 6 January 2026 and docks in Vancouver 129 days later on 15 May.

The four shorter segments range from 20 to 48 days and are perfectly timed to take in a circumnavigation of Australia, Japan’s spring cherry blossom season and Golden Week, and an early summer cruise in Alaska.

“Our 2026 world cruise aboard Seabourn Sojourn will be a remarkable voyage visiting an impressive portion of the Pacific,” said Natalya Leahy, president of Seabourn.

“This region will feature extraordinary cultural and culinary experiences as well as scenic natural wonders for guests to create memorable Seabourn Moments. For guests who are looking to experience parts of this amazing adventure, we’re pleased to offer these shorter segments as an option for them to get a taste of our World Cruise and visit some of their top destinations.”

Why Seabourn Sojourn?

The 458-guest ship is large enough to provide all-suite accommodation (most suites have a private veranda), spacious socialising areas, elegant restaurants and plenty of open deck space, while being small enough to enter ports that are inaccessible to megaships.

Fares cover pretty much everything – all dining (including lashings of caviar); premium wines and spirits; an in-suite bar stocked with your preferred tipples; Signature Experiences such as Shopping with the Chef and Marina Day; WiFi powered by Starlink; crew gratuities, and more. Shore excursions and spa treatments are not included.

Seabourn is renowned for its high crew-to-guest ratio and top-notch service. Dining is superb – Seabourn is a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, one of the world’s most prestigious gastronomic societies.

Restaurants onboard Seabourn Sojourn include The Restaurant, The Grill by Thomas Keller, the indoor-outdoor Colonnade, and the new Mediterranean-themed Solis.

If you need to work off a few indulgences, the ship has a fully equipped gym staffed by personal trainers, a watersports marina and two pools.

The line attracts fascinating experts from all walks of life for its Seabourn Conversations program and entertainment ranges from late-night gigs in The Club to production shows.

Pearls of the South Pacific

The longest segment of the 2026 world cruise is Pearls of the South Pacific, 48 days of ultra-luxe island-hopping between Los Angeles and Sydney, from 6 January to 24 February.

Seabourn Sojourn will visit six island groups – the Hawaiian Islands, Tahiti and French Polynesia, Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and New Zealand. She will call at eight ports in New Zealand, including an overnight in Auckland.

Highlights include extended stays in Honolulu, Bora Bora and Tahiti and a day on New Zealand’s unspoilt Stewart Island.

Coral Coast: Circumnavigation & Sapphire Seas

The 39-day Sydney to Hong Kong voyage is sure to attract a lot of attention from local luxe cruisers. Seabourn Sojourn departs Sydney on 25 February to circumnavigate Australia, calling at 14 ports on her way round, until departing our shores in Darwin on 21 March for Indonesia and the Philippines.

The itinerary includes overnight stays in Sydney and Melbourne, extended stays in Hobart and Broome, Seabourn’s first visit to Robe in SA, and calls to Kangaroo Island and Kuri Bay – the latter famed for Paspaley’s pearl farm.

Gantheaume Point is at the southern end of Cable Beach, just out of Broome.

Isle of Jade and Beyond

The 20-day voyage from Hong Kong to Tokyo starts on 4 April with an overnight stay in Hong Kong and a late-night departure on 5 April that offers incredible views of the city’s glittering skyline by night.

Seabourn Sojourn will visit two very different ports in Taiwan – Kaohsiung, the island’s second-largest city and Hualien, known as the gateway to Taiwan’s spectacular mountainous countryside.

A circumnavigation of Japan follows, which is sure to appeal to Australian travellers who are flocking to the country in record numbers.

As well as scenic cruising in the Japan Inland Sea and Kanmon Strait, the ship calls at seven stunning ports that reveal the many fascinating faces of the island nation before docking at Yokohama in Tokyo on 24 April.

Golden Gardens and Glaciers

The final sector of Seabourn Sojourn’s world cruise is the 22-day voyage from Tokyo to Vancouver, starting on 24 April and finishing in Vancouver on 15 May.

Cherry-blossom season should be in full bloom as the ship calls at Hitachinaka, Sendai, Hakodate and Kushiro in Japan, and locals will be celebrating Golden Week holidays in late April too.

After crossing the international dateline during several relaxing sea days, the ship docks in Kodiak for the start of a seven-day sailing in Alaska.

Highlights include scenic cruising in magnificent Glacier Bay; a day in historic Sitka, which features 19th-century Russian architecture alongside Tlingit cultural events; the Tlingit village of Klawock on Prince of Wales Island; Prince Rupert, known for its population of grizzly bears; and another day of spectacular scenic cruising along the Inside Passage.

Book by 30 April 2024 for a two-category Veranda Suite upgrade and up to US$2,000 shipboard credit with Seabourn’s A Sale Beyond Event.
