The official handover ceremony of Silversea’s newest luxury ship Silver Ray on 14 May 2024 occurred two days earlier than planned and was marked by maritime traditions at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Eemshaven, Netherlands with Royal Caribbean Group and Silversea executives in attendance.

The second ship in the innovative Nova Class joining Silver Nova, which debuts in Australia in November 2024, Silver Ray will embark on her maiden voyage from Lisbon on 15 June 2024 for an inaugural season in the Mediterranean before sailing the Americas from December 2024.

Silversea’s Nova Class introduces an open, asymmetrical design and 4,000sqm of exterior glass for an in-destination immersive experience from almost all venues and suites, including the new outdoor Dusk Bar and Marquee.

Among the most spacious cruise ships ever built, the Nova Class vessels provide one of the highest personalised service offerings at sea with a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1.3 and butler service for all suites.

Along with sister ship Silver Nova, the new vessel is also one of the most energy-efficient ultra-luxury and expedition cruise ships built by Royal Caribbean Group.

“I can’t wait for our guests to experience everything this remarkable ship has to offer.”
