The Ritz-Carlton to make its debut in Fiji on the Coral Coast

Marriott International has signed an agreement to open The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay, the first The Ritz-Carlton hotel in Fiji.

Marriott International has signed an agreement to open The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay, the first The Ritz-Carlton hotel in Fiji.

Expected to open in 2030, the 249-room luxury resort will be on a 28-hectare beachfront site on the Coral Coast.

Marriott says the resort will “deliver the brand’s vision to inspire life’s most meaningful journeys and is positioned to be the most luxurious resort on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu”.

Designed to reflect the Fijian culture and heritage, the resort is expected to have 166 guest rooms and suites, most with ocean views.

Another 83 villas will have private plunge pools and outdoor decks. There will also be a Presidential Villa with private pool, large balcony and yoga lounge.

When it’s time to dine, there’s a choice of seven restaurants, and for the active, two large pools, an exercise area, yoga studio and tennis courts.

Little ones haven’t been overlooked with a bespoke children’s recreation centre, perfect while parents relax at The Ritz-Carlton Spa with its eight treatment rooms, sauna, dip pools and a salon.

Marriott International Vice President Richard Crawford says it’s exciting to debut The Ritz-Carlton in one of the world’s most desirable destinations.

“With Fiji experiencing significant growth in visitor numbers, market profile, and infrastructure, now is the ideal time to introduce Marriott’s luxury portfolio to the island.

“The government’s clear and coordinated commitment to sustainable tourism and quality hotel development is driving strong investor interest and attracting top-tier global brands.

“We expect the local benefits of this investment to be far-reaching, and we are confident that The Ritz-Carlton brand has the global cachet to attract new affluent travel markets to Fiji.”

Marriott International Director Development APAC Tristan Cooper says, “as the largest resort operator in Fiji… to cater to even more discerning travellers, we are eager to secure footholds for our luxury portfolio, particularly The Ritz-Carlton”.

“It is therefore exciting to have the chance to deliver on this objective, at a stunning beachfront location on the Coral Coast.

“The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will be a truly world-class offering, delivering the legendary service the brand is known for and the very best resort facilities in the country.

“The timing couldn’t be better, with our current resort portfolio in Fiji enjoying record-high occupancy levels, and our nearly 245 million Marriott Bonvoy members seeking even more choices and luxury experiences.”

The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will join Marriott’s portfolio of five properties in Fiji, including Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, Sheraton Denarau Villas, Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island, Fiji and The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa, Fiji (slated to reopen in 2025).
