Personal travel manager, Ric Pattaro representative for TravelManagers’ Haberfield in Sydney, has been recognised as the top corporate consultant in Australia winning the ‘Best Travel Consultant – Corporate’ category at the 2014 National Travel Industry Awards.

“I am absolutely thrilled yet humbled to be recognised as Australia’s best corporate consultant.  I love what I do so to win this award is really an honour,” says Pattaro.

Pattaro attributes providing exceptional service as the key to his success.

“Service is the key and genuinely looking out for what is in my clients’ best interests. Being my own boss as a personal travel manager allows me the freedom and flexibility to provide individual tailor-made experiences and I believe is what sets a personal travel manager apart from a traditional travel agent,” he says.

TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager Michael Gazal congratulates Pattaro on his first time win of the award, having been nominated for two consecutive years.

“Everyone at TravelManagers is absolutely delighted that Ric has been recognized in this way. The ease with which Ric makes clients feel valued, the way he understands their needs by providing expert advice and efficient and consistent service, topped off with an absolutely ‘can do’ attitude makes it easy to see why he is Australia’s top corporate consultant. We are all extremely proud of his achievements,” he says.

Following an overseas sabbatical Pattaro, an experienced corporate consultant, joined TravelManagers in March 2008 with not one client to his name. Through personal attention and service Pattaro quickly built a steady and rapidly growing corporate client base.

“Taking ownership of my clients’ travel arrangements as though they were my own, always being professional and being accessible for my clients at any time of the day or night, are all important attributes to me,” he says.

Gazal sees Pattaro’s success as a win for all TravelManagers’ personal travel managers.

“Ric’s win further supports TravelManagers professional approach in both the retail and corporate space. Ric is an absolute professional with a strong focus on customer service and experience which is reflective of the quality and professionalism of all of our 430 plus personal travel managers across Australia,” he says.

Whilst some may view the personal travel manager concept as a unique distribution channel, there is no doubting its place and growing importance in the industry as a whole.

“Ric’s success further highlights the growing dominance of the home-based travel consulting segment and an acclamation of TravelManagers as Australia’s market leader in the rapidly growing home-based consulting segment,” says Gazal.
