The Jetset Travelworld Group has sold its inbound travel businesses, ATS Pacific Australia, ATS New Zealand and ATS Fiji to the AOT Group for $5.2m with the sale to be finalised on 30 September 2013.

The sale is expected to generate a before tax loss for JTG in the range of $5-$7m, to be noted as an exceptional item in their FY14 result. ATS Pacific Inbound business contributed $0.3m to JTG’s profit before tax in FY13.

“AOT is a leading participant in this sector of the travel industry and the sale will provide further opportunities for ATS staff and customers,” JTG CEO, Rob Gurney said.

Gurney described the sale of the non-core business as a “further step in the ongoing transformation of JTG and is consistent with the strategic focus”, relating to the announcement of its new helloworld consumer-brand.
