BYOjet, the company head quartered in Shailer Park with 24 hour live chat and ‘nine month interest free’ offers, took home the title at the annual World Travel Awards Australasia and Asia ceremony.

The agency won the award for the first time last night, taking out Concierge Traveller, Flight Centre, Harvey World Travel Australia, Hunter Travel Group, Jetset Travel, Mann Travel and Phil Hoffmann Travel.

The awards, held in Hong Kong, saw hundreds of travel operators around the region awarded for their ongoing efforts in the field.

Air New Zealand took home the title ‘Austalasia’s Leading Airline’ beating out major competitor Qantas, while InterContinental Sydney was handed the title ‘Australia’s Leading Hotel’.

Australasia’s Leading Cruise Line was Oceania Cruises while Emporium Hotel was named ‘Leading Boutique Hotel’.

The Grand Hyatt Melbourne was a favourite for MICE as the ‘Leading Business Hotel’ and Gaia Retreat & Spa, Australia was named Australasia’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2015.

Australia’s best lodge is the Qualia Great Barrier Reef, while Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat was recognised as the top spa resort.
