According to The Telegraph, the alleged attacker prepared his main weapon, the Kalashnikov rifle, at the back of the train. There, a 51-year-old British professor, Mark Moogalian, spotted him and attempted to wrestle the weapon out of his hands.

2. Teens face charges over offensive inflight behaviour

Not inflight

Two teenage girls are allegedly facing a string of charges after they were forcibly removed from a flight from Sydney to Perth.

The two 17-year-old girls appeared in Perth Children’s Court this week for being among three disruptive passengers that had to be restrained by crew for what has been described as ‘offensive and disorderly behaviour’, News.com.au reported.

No crew or passengers were injured during the incident, however, Federal Police were called to escort the girls off the flight.

One teenager has been charged with failing to adhere to instructions onboard the aircraft as well as threats and providing false statements.

The second girl has been charged with failing to adhere to instructions and disorderly behaviour.

3. Air staff grounded for exceeding weight standard

A Chinese flight attendant has reportedly been told she can’t fly because she exceeds the required height-to-weight ratio.

The news came from a crew member of Qingdao Airlines who told media the flight attendant was told she was overweight, Daily Mail reported.

According to the airline, it does have a weight requirement in place for its air crew, however, it denied having grounded anyone over it.

Qingdao’s current weight standards for female flight attendants is between 165-172 cm and weight between 50-68kg and they need to be under the age of 30.

“We are concerned that exceeding weight standards will compromise the ability of cabin crew members to respond in emergency situations, and we hope the crew can maintain good body shape.”
