Sharks circulating a shopping mall, a good surf in front of the Opera House (before it sank) and sand filled houses, these images managed to fool the rest of the world, and perhaps even some locals.
After several days of the severe storm sweeping across NSW with Sydney being hit hard, a number of questionable pictures of the tragic storm have emerged with many believing they were actually real.
From a spectacular waterfall cascading from the Harbour Bridge to a crocodile surfacing at a train station and sand dunes making their way into peoples homes, these clever images didn’t just fool the rest of the world, many of us bought in to them as well.
Not surprisingly the photos quickly went viral across social creating a real ‘Sydney storm buzz’.
Althought the storm caused a lot of disturbance for local residents and sadly resulted in the loss of eight people there seems to be a sliver lining to the story with Sydney getting a lot of international coverage.
