Floating tropical wood-fired pizzeria, private jet kitted out with Mongolian cashmere blankets and Chief Instagram Officer is the new title. We’ve listed our top 5 travel trends of the week.

1. Floating cocktail bar with a wood-fired pizzeria

Cloud 9, a floating bar in Fiji,  is for travellers wanting to take their experiences to the next level.
Surrounded by turquoise waters and a stunning tropical scene, the floating bar boasts a well-stocked bar and for those who prefers a bite to go with the booze there is also an Italian wood-fired pizzeria on board.

As written on the website, “This unique venue has surround sound system throughout, sun decks, hanging chairs and day beds. Cloud 9 is built with precision and creativity giving you an experience like no other!”

We’re totally in!

2. High-class service has reached new heights

By launching Four Seasons Private Jet, the hotel chain has reached new heights with its high-class service.

The Private Jet includes air travel, ground transportation, as well as ground accommodations at any Four Seasons Hotel around the world and the fully branded aircraft replicates the exact same style and service offered at all Four Seasons properties.

For the lucky guests who can afford the luxury of the private jet will be sitting on hand-crafted leather seat/flatbeds, walk on handwoven woollen carpets and wrap themselves in Mongolian cashmere blankets.

All their meals will be cooked using fresh ingredients and prepared by the in-flight executive chef and sous chef.

3. Follow Me India – An Instagram love affair

post

The campaign stems off of the original ‘Follow Me- series’, which began when photographer Murad Osmann’s girlfriend, Natalie Zakharova, tired of him always stopping to take photos started to grab his arm to follow her.

The stunning couple first gained popularity in 2013 and has documented their travels to destinations such as New York, London, and Paris and is now capturing India.

The ‘Follow Me India-series’ showcases some of the most picturesque scenes found in the country and Natalie Zakharova is dressed in traditional Indian attire while the two of them explore what the country has to offer.

4. Hotel appoints Chief Instagram Officers

HILLSIDE

It’s hard to keep up with all the new fancy titles popping up in our digital world but we absolutely love this title…wait for it… – Chief Instagram Officer!

The title first popped up last month when the Hillside Beach Club in Turkey launched a competition to find six Chief Instagram Officers. People could apply for the position by sharing an image on Instagram hashtagged with #JobAtHeavenOnEarth, before six individuals from around the world were selected.

For anyone who loves spending time on Instagram as well as travelling (sounds like the perfect combo to me) the winners could enjoy a free seven-day stay at the luxury resort, managing the hotel’s Instagram account and hosting a photography workshop for guests.

5. Paris is set to build its first skyscraper in 40 years

The city of love has voted in favour for the developing plans for a giant triangular tower that would be the capital’s first modern skyscraper in more than 40 years.

The building, 180 metres high and vying on the skyline with the Eiffel Tower, will house a 120-room hotel and 70,000 sq metres of office space.

Whilst skyscrapers are a common sight in most major capitals the development of high-rise buildings in Paris has always been met with strong opposition however it seems like this new glowing pyramid has won the majority of the decision-makers’ hearts.
