Royalists rejoice over the news of a new heir who may have been conceived in Australia.
Unless you live under a rock, you’d know that last night (AEST), the royal couple, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, announced that they are expecting a second child.
The news broke sooner than the conventional 12-week stage after Kate was hospitalised with severe morning sickness, a condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum, and had to cancel her planned engagement with Will at Oxford.
Nonetheless, despite the premature communiqué, the couple and the royal palace are said to be thrilled and have taken to Twitter to announce the good news:
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.”
“The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news that Their Royal Highnesses are expecting their second child.”
Even British Prime Minister, David Cameron, jumped on to congratulate the expecting couple:
Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I’m delighted by the happy news that they’re expecting another baby.

Along with Tom Gleeson (of course):
Before I get excited about this 2nd royal baby, I need to muster up some excitement for my own 2nd baby.

The new royal baby will be the fourth in line to the throne, after Kate and Will’s first son, George.
While these revelations have quashed the ripe speculation that has been culminating over the past four weeks over Kate’s potential pregnancy, they have done little to quiet rumours that the baby may have been conceived on Australian or New Zealand soil.
According to calculations, the baby may have been conceived during the couple’s last tour of the region.
Seems that travel, touring and the rich red soil of this sun burnt country are a potent mix for parturiency.
