For the second year running, roomsXML treated 75 agents and guests to a viewing of Rogue One, the standalone Star Wars movie, at the Lido Cinema in Hawthorn, Melbourne.
Mark Luckey, roomsXML MD said: “You can’t talk about Star Wars without a long time ago quote… I still remember seeing Empire Strikes Back at the Elizabeth Cinema in 1981 so it was pretty cool to take my daughter along to this one. It’s come a long way and great to share it with my family and 75 guests”.
As in 2015, the event was supported by 501st Legion who, if you make a donation to a cause, will support your Star Wars event. This year the ‘Rebel Legion’ came along as well. The donation? roomsXML donated $2,000 to Project Karma.
Sasha from roomsXML said: “The 501st are not only passionate Star Wars geeks but generous with their time and giving the kids and their parents a buzz. Good people supporting a great cause”.
But wait, there’s more.
Mark explained: “We had limited spots and competition for the tickets was pretty intense. One very excitable agent sent a picture of himself in his Darth Vader costume next to his customised number plates of ‘Jedi’.”
“Jeff (Dimond) from FBI travel said the plates were because of his name…but what a top bloke, sweating it out in his Darth gear for a couple of hours. We agreed before hand for that, on behalf of roomsXML and FBI travel, we donated a further $1,000 to Project Karma.”
For 2017, may the Force be with you.
